Wú Lǎoshī (Ms. Harper)
Middle School Mandarin
Nǐ hǎo! (Hello)
My name is Shih-Ping Harper, and I am a native Mandarin speaker from Taiwan. When I teach in class, I prefer my students to call me “ Wú lǎoshī ”. Wú is my maiden name, and lǎoshī means teacher. This is a good Chinese culture lesson for your child to understand that a student addresses his/her teacher by her last name plus “lǎoshī ”. For my educational background, I have a Masters in Education from Loyola University Maryland and a MAT in teaching Foreign Languages from Kennesaw State University.
During my leisure time, I enjoy traveling and learning about different cultures. I am thrilled to be a part of the ICSAtlanta community, and I cannot wait to continue my journey here.
Looking forward to a great year!
